Finally! Nearly three years after entering into partnership, the Alliance Search, research online, the Microsoft and Yahoo! extend to Europe. The operation aims to add Internet searches conducted since those of Yahoo! Bing, the search engine from Microsoft.

This partnership aims to bridge the delay between the two groups facing Google. They desperately need to increase their market share. First, because the algorithms used by search engines feed on queries made: most recent, the stronger the results will be relevant by users.

By capturing more online research, Search Alliance also aims to improve the profitability available to online advertisers and attractiveness. Furthermore, this joint platform simplifies the management of advertising campaigns for advertisers. Thursday, May 4, customers advertising French, British and Irish Yahoo! Search have been switched on the Microsoft platform Adverstising Center. The next step will concern Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

On paper, this combination has many advantages, including simplification, and the advantage of offering an alternative to Google. The only problem is that people do not follow. In the U.S., Google holds nearly two-thirds of the market for online search. Just over 80% in France.

The CEO of Yahoo! lied on his CV

In addition, the deployment of this agreement is particularly slow. Especially in a world that is changing as rapidly as the Web. While Google reflects on responses to set up facing the rise of Facebook, Search Alliance is still looking to counter Google.

And for good reason. The agreement between Microsoft and Yahoo! on-line search was concluded in July 2009. Two years after having negotiated, Carol Bartz, Yahoo! CEO then, decided to suspend operations because of disappointing results, especially for sponsored links. Since then, Carol Bartz was dismissed with loss and noise, before being replaced four months later by Scott Thompson.

But Yahoo! unlucky. Only the group he was commended for a new CEO is a scandal erupted on May 3 Scott Thompson lied on his resume. The man claims to computer science graduate from a prestigious university. It actually has a degree in accounting. The information was revealed by Dan Loeb, head of a fund activist who is seeking seats on the board of Yahoo!. And now, the head of the new boss. If he defends himself by noting that it is just a simple "failure", that is not enough to silence the fire from critics.

United States, we do not mess with the lie. This controversy could not come at a worse for Yahoo!. Already analysts are betting on a possible resignation.

It is a paradox. Michel Combes, the current CEO of Vodafone Europe will become CEO of SFR and board member of Vivendi from August 1, 2012. Jean-Bernard Lévy, Vivendi's chief executive who assumed the interim of Frank Esser arrived in late March, has finally chosen the man who best knows the file. And for good reason! It is precisely Michel Combes, who just last year, sold at high prices to the 44% Vivendi Vodafone's shareholding in SFR. Since 2008 and became head of European operations of British mobile giant, Michel Combes was also a director of SFR. He proceeded to examine every angle SFR.

Shortly after the departure of Frank Esser, Vivendi launched a search to find a replacement. And soon the name of Michel Combes has surfaced. It is a great French telecom specialist for the financial director of France Telecom in 2003 before becoming the right arm of Didier Lombard until 2006. But it is also a leader who has acquired an international dimension to the head of Vodafone Europe since 2008 low fee pay day loans. Meanwhile, the X Telecom 50 years, known for his enthusiasm and hyperactivity, led TDF, the technical broadcaster of television and radio and wireless mobile telecom. His brief tenure as head of TDF was marked by the construction of an ambitious business model that attracted the new shareholders of TDF, the TPG, Axa Private Equity and the CDC.

At the head of SFR, Michel Combes will have to implement the plan to win back customers attracted by offers Free Mobile. It will also improve profitability of the mobile operator heavily affected by the general decline in package prices. In 2012 and 2013, the EBITDA of SFR should decline by 15%. A challenge for Vivendi, who paid € 8 billion to acquire the entire share capital of SFR few months before the arrival of Free Mobile market. The destruction of value for Vivendi would be valued at nearly $ 2 billion.

Scene of guerrilla warfare to CGT. Tuesday morning, Bernard Thibault has changed the agenda of the Confederal Executive Commission – Government organization – to tackle the delicate subject of his estate, scheduled in 2013. According to several sources, the current Secretary General is violently attacked Éric Aubin, head of the Federation of Construction and Mr. Retreats plant, now in the best position to replace him internally. He was particularly criticized for having "declared available for the organization" – see, to replace him – which could "jeopardize the CGT." The tradition is indeed whether the outgoing Secretary General proposes that the name of his successor and not potential candidates who declare themselves. The officers, totally subject to Bernard Thibault, drove home the point by comparing the current situation to that of 1946 when FO had decided to split … Atmosphere.

Launching in December a major consultation to discuss his succession, the head of the CGT has pulled himself shot in the foot. He was convinced that the name of Agnes Naton (or Nadine Prigent, disqualified from because of its rigidity) would come out of the hat. But this is Eric Aubin, supported by large federations Building, Energy, of Railway, Postal, Chemical and others who came out. "Bernard Thibault was completely outdated and no longer knows how to get out today, a judge as part of the organization. Then he attempts a coup but nobody is willing to let him. "

Thoroughly review the organization of the confederation

It must be said that Eric Aubin warned that if named secretary general he would review thoroughly the organization and operation, very self-centered around the general secretary of the confederation. "It scares some people who will lose their influence," an expert analysis. Including a whole bunch of "retirees" who gravitate to Bernard Thibault and continue, in fact, to hold the reins of the organization.

Nobody really understands what Bernard Thibault to blame Eric Aubin. "He keeps saying he does not reproach him and everything is fine between them but he can not help him put banana peels in its path," Judge a close. The secretary general of the CGT argued for including Eric Aubin is not highlighted at the general meeting on pensions on January 31, at the Zenith in Paris, which marked the launch of the anti-reelection Nicolas Sarkozy. Mere fact truly "objective": the current boss of the CGT – who would have liked to re-enlist a fifth term before members of the Executive Board make him understand that they were not at all favorable – would leave a trace in the history of Central imposing a woman to head the organization. "It's now or never," continues he repeated: Naton Agnes, one of his close confederate in the office, not the name. "Unfortunately Eric Aubin is a man and it does not stick with the designs of Bernard Thibault," quips one part of the plant.

In the end, the Executive Board on Tuesday urged Bernard Thibault to continue its consultation, without changing the terms continually. The head of the CGT must deliver a name to the next meeting on April 17 before embarking on a tour of France to test in the territories. "He will not propose that Eric Aubin, provides one of its members. He will try one last time to push Agnes Naton but we will not be impressed. "

The final decision will be taken on May 30, at a special meeting of the national confederal committee, the parliament of the organization. In the meantime, the Executive Board will have retained a name

.

LE FIGARO. – Must restart nuclear power plants in Japan?

Nobuo Tanaka. – Yes, as soon as possible. Iran represents a huge potential risk. Over 80% of our oil imports and 20% of our gas imports pass through the Strait of Hormuz. We have 170 days of oil stocks, only 20 days for gas. Iranian attack risk is much higher than that of a large tsunami! If we do jumpstart by plants, it could be missed 10% of electricity this summer.

How much would it cost to Japan to do without nuclear power?

At current oil prices, just to replace the current nuclear by fossil fuels, it would cost 3 trillion yen per year (28 billion euros, Ed).

To diversify your natural gas supplies, the construction of an undersea pipeline bringing Russian gas via the neighboring island of Sakhalin is feasible?

Just as the German decision to import Soviet gas in the 1970s improved the Germano-Russian relationship, build a pipeline could help solve the diplomatic dispute that pits Japan against Russia over the Kuril Islands. Russia's interest to diversify its customers in the Far East. Japan could also operate its own gas: methane hydrates on the ocean floor mats are a great potential, especially if oil prices continue to rise much.

How to develop renewable energy in Japan, which are still marginal?

I see no future for the solar wind, in Japan. The government will introduce a feed-in tariff incentive. This is necessary but not sufficient. To complement the intermittent energy, it takes gas or geothermal energy, and a soft market. There is also great potential in marine energy.

What is the liability insurance?

The liability is defined as the obligation to repair the damage or injury caused to others. In case of accident, then it is the insurance that replaces the insured to compensate the victim.

Any land motor vehicle must necessarily be covered by liability insurance. Automobile, and this formula is the minimum requirement of any insurance contract. It is known in the insurance practice "in person".

The liability insurance for the vehicle even if it does not circulate. It therefore covers the damage caused to others by their drivers as well as by its passengers or guardian

Fact: Even the unauthorized driver (that is to say, not specified in the contract) is covered by this insurance. But the insurer can then turn against him to pay

Passengers also have a special status with regard to liability insurance. Indeed, she covers them for damage they may cause, but also those they personally may suffer.

May be compensated by the liability insurance?

The driver of the insured vehicle is not covered for injuries or damage it causes to himself. Thus, the damage to the insured vehicle are paradoxically not insured. This applies even damage to other property belonging to the driver.

This exception aside, the insurance covers almost everything else. Thus, it may indemnify such:

– The passengers,

– Drivers and passengers of other vehicles,

– Pedestrians, cyclists … ,

– Owners of damaged property (windows, walls …)

What are the legal requirements of liability insurance?

The absence of liability insurance of a vehicle is a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of € 3,750, which may be added to any other penalties provided in s. L 324-2 of the Highway Code. These penalties can range from the cancellation of driver's license and sentenced to community service and forfeiture of the vehicle.

Note: the insured also has the obligation to submit any request the insurance certificate of the vehicle, ie his green card.

The knives are drawn between Casino and Galeries Lafayette, Monoprix owners. Both shareholders are certainly agree on one point: the Galeries Lafayette want to sell 50% of Monoprix, as they have indicated on December 7 at Casino, and it wants to redeem him. It will even soon have a war chest of 800 to 900 million euros, after its partial withdrawal of its subsidiary Mercialys. But both groups, associated for 15 years, do not agree on the valuation of Monoprix.

Casino, advised by Rothschild bank is willing to pay 700 million euros for 50% of Monoprix. Galeries Lafayette, advised by Societe Generale, in initially wanted $ 1.95 billion. The variance explained by the high volatility of the valuations of distribution groups, is such that JP Morgan, called to break the tie, threw in the towel.

Casino feels "taken hostage"

The conflict took a turn legal last week, when Galeries Lafayette Casino assigned to the Commercial Court of Paris to make their own estimate no fax payday loans. Meanwhile, Galeries Lafayette has made a new offer at $ 1.35 billion, still too far from the estimate of Casino.

Wednesday, a board of Monoprix, which was to convey, as of March 31, President of Monoprix to Jean-Charles Naouri, CEO of Casino, voted to maintain this position Philippe Houze, CEO of Galeries Lafayette … time an agreement is reached on the valuation.

The board is composed of three members appointed by Casino and three others by the Galeries Lafayette, but the chairman has the casting vote. Casino, who feels "taken hostage" will "seize the competent courts to uphold its commitments by Galeries Lafayette".

The majority of French (63%) believe that pensions will diminish in the future, according to a poll conducted for CSA-Cecop Circle Fund. Professional categories most affluent are most worried (78% of executives).

To address this possible shortfall, more than half of respondents (54%) plan to save a priority to prepare for retirement (45% of them have savings to cover their expenses insurance). For them, life insurance seems inescapable. "It is still perceived as the ideal investment," said Jerome Jaffre, director of the Center for Knowledge and Public Opinion (Cecop).

Only 2% of redemptions reinvested in other investments

However, life insurance was shunned by investors in 2011. For the first time, they withdrew more money than they paid. Net inflows fell to 7.6 billion euros in 2011, almost seven times less than in 2010.

"Most investors have mostly drew on their savings to consume or purchase real estate payday loan lenders. Only 2% of redemptions were reinvested in other financial investments, "says Philippe Crevel, general secretary of the circle of investors. This trend may ease this year, with 85% claim that they do not intend to touch the savings in the coming months.

In this election, more than one French respondent in two (55%) think that the left, if she wins the 2012 election, will not restore the statutory retirement age to 60 years. And 58% of them anticipate even ultimately rejected a legal age to 65. In 2011, there were only 30% think.

Greece appears increasingly at an impasse. Last night, the various parties in the governing coalition failed to agree on the establishment of a new austerity plan, after five hours of discussion, and despite the urgency of the situation . Greek Prime Minister, Lucas Papademos, said the meeting would resume today. He announced advances on the magnitude of the savings (1.5 point of GDP), bank recapitalization and reforms to reduce production costs. In contrast,. Antonis Samaras, the leader of New Democracy (right), leaves little hope on the fact that a consensus could be reached soon: Troika "demand more austerity, that the country is unable to bear, I 'm fighting to prevent this, "he said last night.

The European Union and the International Monetary Fund called on Athens to make more efforts and implement a new fiscal tightening if the country wants to receive the necessary new loan of EUR 130 billion at least. And time is short because without that money the country will be unable to repay the 14.5 billion euros in loans it owes to its creditors by 20 March. Without this payment, the country will have no choice but to declare themselves insolvent.

Saturday night, the Greek finance minister, Evangelos Venizelos, said that negotiations should be concluded on Sunday evening that Greece could ignore the threat of bankruptcy next. Similarly, the leader of the Eurogroup, Luxembourg Jean-Claude Juncker, has also increased pressure on the Saturday night party leaders Greek citing the risk of "bankruptcy" of Greece in March if required reforms were not carried out. Athens must indeed conclude negotiations as soon as possible, so that the exchange of Greek sovereign bonds held by private banks can be operated around February 13. With the key, the deletion of 100 billion euros of its debt.

Statistics show every day a little more clearly the growing problem of financing faced by banks in the euro area. The phenomenon is not confined to institutions based in the peripheral countries, but won the heart of Europe, reflecting the closer and closer bond between the state debt crisis and the situation of the banking system.

To date, the year 2011, European banks had to repay 888 billion dollars to creditors (all types of bonds combined), but they could borrow 744 billion dollars over the period, reveal Figures released by the firm Dealogic. A gap of nearly $ 150 billion that masks a number of phenomena. On the one hand, banks that can accumulate "cash payday loans direct lenders."On the other, those, more numerous, which are structurally borrowers must find ways to bridge the gap between what they need and what they can take to prevent the liquidity crisis, that is, ie the default.

The first solution is the European Central Bank, which opened more widely its counters. Heavily used by institutions Greek, Irish and Portuguese, these facilities are also becoming critical to institutions whose country of origin still have access to markets. Spanish banks borrowed 86.2 billion euros at the ECB at the end of October (7 billion more than at the end of September).

The nuclear power, which is in France more than 75% of the total electricity production, it is the lung of the domestic industry? A total industrial consumption in the Hexagon is approximately 140 terawatt hours (TWh), representing a third of the total electricity consumption. It covers 30,000 companies – including 600 "electro-intensive" – which employ 3 million workers and generates a turnover of 900 billion euros.

In addition to these large volumes, nuclear power is distinguished by its long prices. "In late 1980, Pechiney had wanted to relocate its operations in Canada, where hydroelectric power is a considerable asset. The group ended up staying in France because that EDF was able to make a competitive offer-cons based on the competitive cost of nuclear electricity, "recalls Colette Lewiner, director of international energy and utilities sector at Capgemini payday loan lenders.

Specifically, in its latest "Observatory of European energy markets," Capgemini shows that the electricity in France remains one of the cheapest in Europe. "But to the industrial, the argument prices is not the only criterion. They also want the visibility, the gold price of nuclear electricity are distinguished by their predictability: they are much less sensitive to changes in the price of electricity produced from fossil fuels such as gas or oil, Jean-Jacques Nieuviaert note, Councillor in charge of the overall economy and markets to the French Union of Electricity (UFE).
